Episode 63: Billy Gibbons :: Live From Daryl's House with Daryl Hall :: Current Episode
Wow I had to book mark that so I could watch the whole thing later.
Ditto. I've watched this show (not this episode) before and depending on who the guest is, it's usually a "Darryl Hall" show. That said, I watched the first song (and will come back) but yeah, that's a pretty sweet SG Billy has, but did anyone else notice that Epi Sherry getting a workout from the other guitar player?
What kind of tailpiece is that? Looks like a rudimentary surgical tool of some sort. LOL Looks cool.
I was wondering what had happend to his show. Really enjoy it. Would love to go up there and jam with those guys..
Looks like the old side-pull trem with the cover removed.
Well it IS a Daryl Hall Show.
LOL, yeah, I know. Sometimes it's difficult to make a point in print. What I meant was I've seen some of his shows where some guests of "lesser status" shall we say, certainly not a Billy or Joe Walsh, and Daryl gets most of the attention. Maybe I'm biased. Mrs G and I got tix to a Hall and Oates concert a couple years ago as a gift. Not a bad show, but it didn't take long to realize that Hall and Oates is really Hall and Oates if you get my drift.
Realy enjoyed this.Thanks for posting.
Looks like a Standard/'61 SG, no guard, vol and tone holes plugged with chrome cap and a blend pot where the switch is normally. Sounds really cool. The epi "sherry" sounds great too. I think he's running through the Dr.Z sweet heavenly tones right there!
He had a JCM800 head sitting on a cab behind him. I think the Dr Z was for the other guitarist beside him. Both sounded excellent. Pretty sure he couldn't crank that JCM at all in there as his tone was cleaner than his usual self. Either way sounded great. Wish I could have 1/4 of his talent. I'm glad he put that hh tele down after that second song. It just didn't sound as "right" as the SG for his style. IMHO
That was GREAT !! The Rev. is in really good shape !
I believe that Billy was playing out of the Magnatone combo. In one of the latest "Rig Rundown" videos, his tech was talking about the custom prototypes that may become sig. models.
whoa. you are absolutely right. I missed that amp completely watching that whole show. The 800 wasn't even turned on
I meant the guy playing the epi not RBG.
Too cool! Thanks so much for this.
I usually just stumble onto this show late at night. It is always a treat to see "real" musicians playing their own instruments and just jamming. I wonder how much they really have to rehearse in advance. Something tells me they don't have to go through it to many times before they get a keeper for the show. Thanks for posting.
I actually e-mailed the show and asked about how many "takes" they do - the said they are very well prepared by Paul Pesco and try very hard to nail it on the first take and do so 90% of the time.
Those are some very primo musicians at that gig.
I wonder what that pays??!!
Looks like a Derek Tucks SG !
