Here is my beloved Gibson 1969 Les Paul Deluxe.
I've bought the guitar in London a few years ago from a professional guitar player. He said that X Iron Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton owned it. I don't know if it is true or not but the guitar is absolutely amazing. She plays like butter and the sound is divine. She's got that true vintage tone and looks and from all the Gibson Guitars I've owned and played this is by far my favorite on.
Please feel free to upload 69 Deluxe gold tops and share your love.

Nice to see an all original one, i.e. not routed or re-finned. Great pics.

    Hi everybody.

    Here is another one.
It's a late 1969 (December) all original. It's in a fantastic condition and sounds awesome. This one is owned by a friend and it is very unique. It's got a mini volute and it's one of the last ones made in 1969.
John, Thanks for the pictures mate.
    Enjoy!

Interesting, small volute, pancake body and no made in USA stamp. A very transitional time it was in 69.
I had a mid 69 LP Custom, had the "danger case" like yours. Mine had an even smaller volute, almost a wee bump. By the mid 70s the volute seemed to grow into a large shoe heel.

    Thanks for the pics.:dude:

    Cheers mate.
Is your 69 LP Custom posted somewhere in the Forum? I'd love to see it.
The volute is tiny. I think it looks bigger on the picture but I guess they were trying different things then. It was a fascinating year in Gibson history.

Interesting to see the early deluxes had the same pickguard as the 68 GT's.
