Peavey Classic/Delta Blues question.

I was just wondering what the differences between the Classic 30 and the Delta Blues were. I know they're both running at 30 watts, and the speakers are different, but I'm really wondering about the tonal difference. I've played through a Delta here locally (and loved it), but neither of the two shops in this area carry carry the Classic 30.

So, has anyone played through both? How different are they?

Re: Peavey Classic/Delta Blues question.

I'm a big fan of the Classic series. I'll tell you what I know. The Delta now just comes as a 2x10 combo; the 1x15 has been discontinued. Compared to a Classic 30, the Delta has less gain in the lead channel but adds tremolo to the circuit. I think the clean channels on both amps are similar, as are the f/x loops and reverb. The Delta is kind of a sleeper, especially if you swap out the stock Peavey 10's for say...a Ragin Cajun and a Ramrod, or a pair of Red Fangs. You'll need to add a pedal to the lead channel if you want to get nutty.

Re: Peavey Classic/Delta Blues question.

Thanks for your input. The DB here locally is the 1x15 model. As I stated above, I love the way it sounds, but the 15" leaves little in choice of aftermarket speakers later down the road. The 2x10 looks very appealing, and I'd easily look to seal the deal on one if it was available in the "Tweed" Tolex. Hm...

Thanks again, Big John! Does anyone else have anything they'd like to add?
