G12H30 Solder only terminals...Help!
Hey guys,
I am swapping out 2 of the V30's in my cab for some Heritage G12H30's I just got. Thing is though the + and - terminals on these are solder only, so I was looking to get some advice from you guys. I have a Marshal 1960BV with a impedance switch so I am going to have to solder 2 separate wires to the + and - terminals. How should I attach 2 separate wires? (one wire from + to + of the other G12H and the other wire to the Independence switch, like wise for the - terminal). Is it ok if the 2 wire ends that are being soldered to the terminal are touching each other? This is the first time I have changed my speakers so any help would be greatly appreciated. I attached a picture of the solder only terminal. |

Re: G12H30 Solder only terminals...Help!
Just thought of something, instead of soldering two separate wires to one terminal, would I be able to just run 1 wire, strip the section that needs to be in contact with the terminal, solder it and run the same wire to the + or - terminal on the switch? I drew a sketch real quick to explain what im thinking and attached it. That would be just one continuous wire and I know I'd have to do the same thing with the negative terminal I just didn't draw it. But would this be fine, I cant see there being a difference between this or soldering 2 wires that are gonna be on the same terminal. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

That should be fine. Both speakers is then wired parallel so if you have 8 ohm speakers then the total load will be 4 ohms.
