Show your Ceriatone Love! Anyone,Anyone?

Well I just thought we could all share our love for these tone monsters. I love the sound of this thing so much I am seriously contemplating getting rid of my Digitech GSP1101. The amp just sounds so good with out it.

I've heard some pretty tasty soundclips on you tube. The Trainwreck and Marshall clones sound really good. Great amps for the money.

Re: Show your Ceriatone Love! Anyone,Anyone?

I love mine. I've got the 1987 clone. My R8 and that amp were made for eachother. I used to play it through a 4x12 of v30's, but I've found it likes greenbacks a lot better. The only pedal I own is an OCD that I don't ever use anymore. It sounds good, but nothing like that amp with the vol at 8. Stand back!

My next amp will be a Super Bass 100 from them. They don't have it listed but it's just a mod to the super lead 100.....I emailed and said they'd do it for me.....

Re: Show your Ceriatone Love! Anyone,Anyone?

Just got a Ceriatone Overtone Special, but haven't heard it yet. I had some vintage transformers I planned to use (saves money on shipping and the cost of the transformers, plus I'm betting my OPT will sound better anyway), unfortunately I couldn't use the PT I had as some of the taps didn't match up. I have my vintage OPT and choke in there, and ordered a PT from Nik, which I just got today, so this weekend the project is to put the PT in so I can finally fire it up. Now I have to save up for a head cab for it. I'll try to remember to give you a tone report once I've tried it out.

Re: Show your Ceriatone Love! Anyone,Anyone?

Got the transformers hooked and double checked all the wiring. Played the Overtone for a little while through several different cabs.
First impressions:
Very nice amp. Easily able to dial in those Santana sounds, including the infinite sustain/feedback if you move your body to the right places in relation to the amp. I played some through a small closed back 1X12 with a Cannabis Rex and a 4X12 with Warehouse V30 clones - the Rex is of course much better for the Sanana sounds.
Cleans I don't like as well as my big Fender (a Vibrosonic Reverb I modded to closely resemble a blackface Twin) although I didn't fire that up to A/B it. I also didn't spend a lot of time trying to optimize the clean sound - the overdrive is too fun to leave alone!
Very versatile switching and controls - I could easily use this one amp to play just about any style.
If a real Dumble is only slightly better than this (which I suspect is the case), I can't see paying $25K for one when you can get a close clone like this for a fraction of the price.
Nik is very responsive to questions and bends over backward to be helpful. The build quality is first rate, and the parts are of very good quality.
Highly recommended.

I don't own one yet, but my next project is a Ceriatone 5F6-A Fender Bassman. I'll get Nik to make it, and I'll do the combo cab for it.

Can't wait.
