Re: Show your amp!
Very soon, I'm going to get rid of every amp I own and just keep this...
![]() This little green 2x12 bitch does everything I need, and weighs just 29 pounds. I'm done with amps.

Re: Show your amp!
Two heads are better than one. 1/2 or 2 watt kit head with 12AX7 preamp tube and 6N1P or ECC99 power tube and 20 watt custom head with a vintage 1973 Raytheon 12AX7 and a vintage 1970 NEC 12AD7 preamp tubes and JJ GZ34 rectifier tube and (2) Vintage 1950 Svetlana 6V6 GT tubes.

Re: Show your amp!
Bout time you finished up that cab and put some tolex on it!
![]() It really is beautiful! Have you considered building another? You could have a mini stack. Would be very cool!

Re: Show your amp!
Thanks. I have spent something like $900 altogether on that cab. I'm not sure I wanna do that again. I think my next project is this:
![]() ![]() It's a 4X10 Yorkville cabinet (from my Canadian neighbors). I think I might be looking for (4) 10 inch speakers. They'd have to be low watt speakers to get the 20 watt head to push them properly. I'm also considering a 8 inch speaker and cab for the 2 watt head. You guys know that you need to be able to physically push the speaker to get the head to overdrive naturally even if it's a low watt head. |

Re: Show your amp!
Go Traynor!!
I'm guessing that's way to big a cab (internal volume) to properly tune 4x10s. Once you select your speakers you should do the math. I bet an internal baffle would help. Be sure to insulate it. Traynor speaker cabs sucked. I think it's one of the reasons Traynor never was able to break into the big league back in the 60s - 70s. Most of their amps were phenomenal! If you ever decide to scrap the cab rebuild, let me know and I'll buy the rubber bumpers off you.

Re: Show your amp!
That was $300 for the maple, $220 for the Celestion, $150 plus tool trade for the carpentry on the cab ($100 for the chisels, wood hammer and draw saw), $100 for lacquer, dye and sandpaper and $30 for hardware.
