I just did a quick soundbite, the tone is as thick as gravy!! The V-30's dominate in the upper register
the G12H's in the lower register, very bass resonant.

Thanks for the advice though

Oh well never mind then. When I did mine from series to parallel, I had the quick connects and the factory wires, I decided to do some monster wire and still used the quick connects, but they felt like there was some movement, so I soldered them on. Plus I like Soldering!!! I can't solder enough things! Call me crazy, but it's fun to me. I bet they sound killer. I love my G12M and I imagine the Heritage G12H are badass!!!! Cool deal. You are still the amp king!

Yea i love soldering things to, i didnt solder the
V-30's though because they are the slip ons
Monster wire ill have to get some of that,
and solder it all.
Really didnt have a choise on the greenbacks
I kind of like the circuit thing on the 1960a because
you can have one side G12H's and the other side V-30s
you can have three different combinations, buy using
the mono and stereo switch and moving the input
1. Left input with stereo switch on for 2 greenbacks
2. Right input on stereo switch on for 2 V-30s
3. right input on mono for all four

Re: Show your amp!

Big John,

Actually they are standard Marshall Logos that I spray painted with a gold metallic paint. They actually look gold plated. The pictures do it no justice.

Wow, that is nice. You have the world at your fingertips! I just have the basic 1960BX cab, so I have 4 greenies in there. I think they sound great, so I don't feel the need to mix and match, but it would be cool to have that ability. Maybe I get bored one day and buy a circuit board and rewire it again and do some speaker swaps. Hmmm, that would require more soldering!! Whoo Hoo!

Re: Show your amp!

I guess its time for me to admit what I have, I was hopeing someone would have an amp worse than mine, LOL.

My amp (Marshall MG combo) footswitch, dunlop wah pedal and calsbro mini pa 'speakeeze' (for vocals)

Close up of my amp: MG100DFX

I'm tryna save up for a marshall 8100 but its hard since they don't make em' any more and I'm very broke.

Mid 70's Celestions. The slant has 65 watters, and the straight has the 75's I think.

Same 'voice' as a good greenback or V30 but with higher power handling. Good clean power!

I like the straight a lot better though, it's a late 70's 1982B cab, bigger in all dimensions than a 1960 cab. Sounds kinda like a really good Mesa Standard cab. HEAVY! Real solid wood.

The 1960 was one of the last all ply cabs. Marshall started using MDF regularly as the backing panel in the late 80's.

I love that straight cab. It's going to the grave with me!

I would rather hear a good player through a MG than a terrible one through a JCM800.

Re: Show your amp!

56 Tweed Deluxe with Altec Lansing all original.

4 different Dr Z heads with assorted cabs mostly after market speakers...Celestion Blue, Gold, Vin 30, G12H30, Greenbacks, Tone Tubbies and Weber AlNico Blue & Silvers.

I love the sound a Marshall but, my ears can't handle even 30 watt amps anymore. Too many Marshall stacks in my early 20's.

the halfstack is a Laboga Studio 50 handwired head, sold under the Fame brand in Germany, and the Cab is a Fame (also Laboga) 4x12 loaded with ceestion v30s. just at the left edge of frame is a vox ac30 with celestion blues, and of course, the epi valve jr.

A couple of "all together" shots. Minus a few cabs...

Isn't it funny how the Vintage/Moderns are sometimes purple, and sometimes black?
