New/old amp day (mojo alert)

I've had this 1962 Epiphone EA-35T for about 17 years. I originally thought it was a 57. It was given to me by the original owner. The Jensen speaker was added by the orginal owner some time in the early 60's. Sent it up to my man Harry at Toobz Amplifier service in Freehold, NJ a few weeks ago and just got it back. He did a great job. He refubished it with a new 3 prong cord, matched set of EL-84s, new output transformer, and miscellaneous resistors and caps. Thanks to BCRGreg for his offer to help me get the reflector knobs, but he wound up taking off the broken rotary on/off switch and installing a flip switch, so I ended up with the extra knob I needed. When I got it home, it was still grimy, so I hit it with some Surf City Garage Dash-Away and it cleaned the Tolex like nothing else I've ever used. The original owner was a heavy smoker and this amp had a pretty good coating of tar and nicotine on it. Unfortunately, my house now smells like an ashtray. This amp sound sweet. It's bright with a little warmth. The tremolo has a great vintage vibe and now I can hear it thanks to the original wooden foot switch being fixed. The first two pics are before, when it was still nasty, the rest are after and some of the stuff replaced.

Sweet amp.

I love old combos, I love to see people bringing them back to life.

Cool looking amp with some good restoration work done to it . That old grill cloth really brings out the vintage look while cleaning up the tolex makes it look classy

Glad you got things worked out with the knob.

That's the sort of amp I always dream about when I go to yard sales and flea markets, lol.
