Fargen Hot Mod

Whats goin on people ? Well, being the gearhead that I am I recently sent my peavey classic 30 chassis to Fargen Amps for the Hot Mod. They change the OT, add a choke and change out caps and resistors and such. I really love them classics and I got 2 so, why not? Its supposed to add sustain and clarity and have a very touch sensative feel. Anyone familiar with this mod or had one done? How different will it be ? I can't wait to get it back.

Re: Fargen Hot Mod

I got my C30 chassis back from Ben Fargen, and have gigged twice with it. I put the combo chassis in a head cab and am running a few different cabs with it 212 and 412. All I can say is WOW !! I will definitely be sending my other Classics to be modded. For what you can get a C30 for and the cost of the mod puts you at around 7 to 800 bucks. I don't think you could buy an amp that sounds this good for under 1500 bucks. I thought it sounded great before, I even AB'ed a stock one and the modded one. Its like night and day. The OD is is so clear, you can hear string to string clarity on 4 note chords. It plays so smooth and I can get so many different tones just by adjusting the guitar controls. This equals less pedal dancing. The clean is lively and chimey. Chords just bloom with sustain and ring out sounding like two guitars. People at my last 2 gigs were amazed by my tone. Notes I didn't even play seemed to jump out perfectly. I can't say enough. If you got some xtra loot and wanna turn your Peavey into a Tone Monster, give Ben a call @ Fargen Amps. You will absolutely not regret it !! It really is "that much better" and coming from over 25 years of experimenting, playing and owning some of musics best gear. Rock On !!
