it may be a one trick pony, but what it does, it does very well.

Sometimes one trick is all you need. I like the Windsor head, I've often thought of getting one of them.

When I bought my SG one of the amps I played it through was a 100 watt Windsor and it sounded good but was refrickendiculously loud!

Re: i have grown to really like my windsor head

my main amp is a Marshall 100 watt full stack, my practice amp is a Marshall 40 watt tube combo.
The Windsor sits well between those two sounds for me, so it definitely reminds me of a Marshall head.

One of my bandmates had one of these and once he changed the tubes in it, it sounded pretty damn good especially for the price tag

Re: i have grown to really like my windsor head

The basic problem with the Windsor is the PC Board is total cheap crap.

However, these have become the "Valve Jr" of "Big Amp" Modding

One of the best i've heard is from "FJA"

Windsor

I've seriously been thinkin about pickin one up cause you can get 'em so dam cheap!

Dude, i'm not gonna lie...i'm soooooooooo happy I got rid of it though

For the money, definitely a good amp, just not the tone I wanted. I could never QUITE get the thickness that I wanted.

The kid that bought it has a hell of a rig for an 11 year old
Epi standard (which was also mine at one point) and a windsor halfstack, MAN, I wish I had that at 11
