Oh here we go...

Ok this is a BUGERA 333XL. I was stalking a laney AOR protube on ebay but it was gone. So I got this thing. It screams and moans then it can cry. Metal, blues, country, jazz, rock. Please no hating. I cant afford a 2k marshall, orange, laney, or mesa. And the digital cam mic sucks.

Tell me what you think!

The good things were very nice. The things I might not have liked I'm not allowed to say anything about. Ergo, my review is worthless.

Good to see more folks checking out the Bugera amplifiers, and liking them . Sounds like a pretty mean distortion machine you have there . Good playing, and good sounds coming from that new amp.

Re: Oh here we go...

333XL is like the working mans dual rectifier is it not? Either way, It's a pretty legit amplifier for the price tag. Do you run it through an attenuator? Or are your neighbors just really nice? :P

Yea man that lead channel can get really close to a dual rec or roadster. My singer has a roadster(are those trip recs?) and this thing nails that tone and it has no rectifier tubes. Weird. The crunch channel honestly sounds alot like a JCM800 if you dial it in right. I live out in the middle of nowhere in the country and my music stuff is in the basement haha. It sounds good at low volumes too so it would not be bad for people who lived in the city. Its a little overkill.... 120 tube watts. The thing overpowers my Bonham influenced drummer with the master on 3 and the channel volume on 1... No joke lol

Lol right on. That's how my Bugera 1960 is, supposed to be a clone of an old JMP super lead (some model #), and it is so ungodly loud that I really can't hardly use it yet lol. Thankfully, I have an ultimate attenuator in the budget for the very near future

Hows that thing sound?? Its insanely cheap. People really need to get familiar with bugera. I know their older models sucked but their newer line kills. This thing is a old model but I have the updated version of it. The inside is hardwired and its got a real good quality handle JUST like mesas employ(like it matters but its a cool touch huh?)

Their also handmade. Not by americans, but does nationality have anything to do with quality? I played a older model 333 at a pawn shop, like a early 08 model and it just felt cheap. This ones ALOT different as far as build quality and stuff goes.

Re: Oh here we go...

Certainly nothing wrong with that amp from what I heard in that clip. Congrats on the find.

As for the Roadster, it is a Dual Rectifier (100W) amp. Another great one I hated having to let go, so I can completely understand not being able to afford a Marshall / Orange / Mesa.

Right now the Blackstar HT-5 has to do it for me. Since I'm in a small house with my neighbors just a few feet away and a wife who suffers migrains, even that 5W is sometimes too much - thank goodness for the headphone output! And basements are things we only read about in Southern California. I miss the country from when I lived in Michigan.

Good luck with your new amp - it sounds like it matches your style quite well.

Re: Oh here we go...

I think the 1960 sounds wonderful, but I can't really compare it to an original 59 plexi as this is trying to copy. Either way, it sounds pretty great to my ears, and that is what counts eh? .

Little demo put together by someone (not myself) showing off the Bugera 1960.

Yea those roadsters are amazing. That sucks about the volume level man. I hate hearing about people who cant jam full out you know? Basements are cool but their so cold. Its not really all that quiet either when you have a full band going. Yea it suits me really well. I needed something that could do virtually everything and this one fits the bill and wallet. Great amp. You ever thought about checking bugeras new amps? I believe its a V series or something. Search bugera V55, they make smaller ones than that I think but thats the series their in. They look worth something.

That hendrix tone is amazing. Can it get a good Randy Rhoadsish tone?(hate comparing tones to artists but its really the only way I can desribe em lol) It just has that vibe going on to me and I love the tone he used to get

Re: Oh here we go...

Yeah it can push out some randy rhoads with a nice pedal in front of it, that's actually what I have used it for mostly . I would love to get a cascaded gain mod done to it, but most people doing mods charge just as much as the amp is worth to do the mod lol.

Re: Oh here we go...

I've also been using an SD-1 for a while now myself, and while I wasn't a huge fan of it at first, I admit it has grown on me. I did use a vintage MXR Distortion + for a while, but the pots are bad on it (real bad), and it has just gotten to the point where it doesn't function properly. A new Distortion + is planned in the future. . . .eventually :P

Haha cool man. That SD-1 is best for boosting a already boosted gain channel haha

When I lived in Michigan, we had 6 1/2 acres and sat 750 feet back off the road. My friend's house was even further out in the sticks, as that was farm country. Our horses could have cared less about the noise, and as long as our parents weren't home we could crank it all we wanted. Now is a different story.

Of course, at the time I was using a 10W Ampeg amp so it wasn't that big of a deal, though our lead guitarist had a half stack of some sort. At the time I wasn't really into amps, and couldn't afford it if I was. A Fender Twin Reverb was what I considered the ultimate amp. At the time I had never heard of Mesa or Orange.

I haven't looked at the Bugera amps so far. After listening to Mesa, Marshall and Orange it has been hard to look elsewhere, especially after owning the Roadster. But you never know for the future. Right now the Mesa ElectraDyne and Mark V are tugging at me pretty hard, along with the JVM 410 and Orange Rocker 30 / Rockerverb 50. Even that Vox AC30 makes me sit up and take notice. Not having the money right now, I guess it really doesn't matter. However I may just give the Bugera amps a listen. Of course, all the low wattage amps have made more sense to me lately since I'm not exactly playing big venues requiring a 100W head full stack setup.

Isnt that the great thing about basements? During our winters -20 can happen pretty frequently and makes the basement nice and chilly but 1 or two songs into practice and we turn the fans on to cool off. I hate in the summer when even the fans cant cut it.

OK on to the Bugera! These are fantastic amps at great prices. My fav is the 6260 I loved the tone hated the downtime. Ive also owned the 333Xl and really enjoyed it but while I could find just about every sound I wanted I couldnt get that sound that fit the band.

Benefits of the Bugera is you can change the bias so easy lol, the 333Xl has a noise suppressor and the price range cannot be beat imo. Everyone could benefit from having one of these in the arsenal!

Man, gotta tell ya as a fellow metal head, you're one of the few guys whose videos I don't skip ahead all over when viewing. You've got great feel in your playing, monster chops and you know cool metal tones. I'm not saying this lightly either - I'm an older guy (43) who played in metal bands and saw tons more perform back in the 80's so I like to think that I know what I'm talking about. Keep at it, LP+SG=W, you're kicking ass now and will only be kicking more and more ass as you keep going. \m/

Ive only been playing 2 1/2 years, but about 3 or 4 hours a day every since haha. I just learn quick by eye. Like I can watch a video of Zakk or Iommi and learn one of their solos by watching it a few times. and a HUGE help to soloing, phrasing, and feel is learning the Blues. I think everyone should learn them proficently

Yes and no lol. I love it when my bands praticing(wont get today because were all snowed in, im bummed) but when im down there by myself practicing.... it SUCKS. It gets really cold, but that Bugera generates enough heat to be a space heater(not really)

Hey LPSGWIN, I miss my 333xl. Had 2 of them. Sold, well gave both away to some young kids in need. Sounded great....however....put a MXR 10band eq in the loop....and it transforms it into a monster. Seriously, try it. It becomes a whole new amp.

Re: Oh here we go...

Very nice! Makes me wish I could jam full out and could afford more than the blues Jr that I have.

What kind of pickups are you using? I ask because I was wondering if all those pinch harmonics are sounding so sweet just from the amp's distortion or if you have active pups on that axe.

Anyway, that is a badass rig you have there no matter what the pricetag was

This one is one of their 2 most expensive... $599.99 for a all tube amp. NOT BAD! They make alot cheaper ones too. Im using the Zakk Wylde set of EMG's in that les paul but my SG with passive GFS crunchy pats screams also
