Blues Amp Gas

Hey all...... ive got gas.

Im looking for recomendations on something out of the ordinary.
SO PLEASE NO FENDER ,PEAVY OR MARSHALL suggestions .

Tone would be for a classic fat Chicago blues. it Must have tubes, One Channel OK. 65 watts and under. price $1200 and under. Dont need fancy boutique options, just fat clean tone. would like 2 10's but its not a deal breaker and im open to 12's. need something new or used thats not too hard to locate

im thinking an late 70's Music Man HD 2-10 65. I had one back in the day so i know what it can and will do but its hard to find a decent one.

anything else????

Cheeers all

Re: Blues Amp Gas

Blues Power, I've tried a lot of amps. I play only blues, old school. Leaving out Tweed Fenders narrows the field. I've been curious about the Silvertone Twin Twelve amps. I really don't know much about them though and don't know who you like musically. I try to use equipment that is of the same style and era as the music I try to keep alive.

The Chicago Blues Box Amps: Custom Tube Power That Amplifies Your Soul.

Chicago Blues Box is one of the most amazing sounding blues combos I've ever heard. I played a Halsted and the Buddy Guy combo, and OH MAN. Words cannot describe. Almost bought the Halsted *the BG was out of my price range* but it was sold out from underneath me.

Re: Blues Amp Gas

Sorry... I know its expensive, but I just had to put it out there because its exactly what you're looking for.

Music Man is ok, but I wouldn't call it a blues amp. Get yourself a Mesa 5:50. Great tones.

Re: Blues Amp Gas

thanks. the CBB looks interesting but theyre not for sale around here so theres no way I can check them out. also from what you say I think its a tad out of my price range.

im just looking for something different.

maybe a 2nd hand Rivera. (dont mind if its a fender clone)

I like the mesa F-50 and the lone star but all those boutique features would drive me "tweaking" crazy, litterally.

The MM was nice. (fender clone btw) I had one from about 79-94. Def had some nice tone to it. very versitle and responded nice to the pedals of the day.
I didnt like the hybrid preamp section though.

any other ideas
