Another infamous ohms questions
I have a Fender pro reverb RI (2005 model). I want to connect my marshall
4x12 cab which is switchable from 4 or 16 ohms. my amps internal speaker is 8 ohms and the ext jack says 8 ohms. The amp automatically switches to 4 ohm load when both jacks are connected can this be safely done at the 16 ohm setting on my cab. ![]() thanks |

Re: Another infamous ohms questions
Yep you should be safe as long as amp output load is lower than the cab value... you can even drive the cab at the 4 Ohms setting as you stated when both internal and external jacks are loaded the amp load is reduced to 4 Ohms.
