Re: Bugera

One more thing to point out about reviews is major publications, what they review and what you end up buying arent necessarily the same thing, the folks at guitar world dont go to a store and pick up random review samples off the shelf, they often get sent cherry picked and tweaked units, often assembled and worked over by highly paid specialists to deliver a superior version of a vastly inferior retail product. Their is a lot of power play and subterfuge in corprate media, if you choose to turn a blind eye to it, your just being naive.

I never thought of that, thats a good point.Bugera sends them a perfect amp with maybe a hidden mod inside to beef up the tone that the magazine cant see or they assume its stock. So in reality the magazine is not lying when they review it.

Are you on crack? I buy and sell amps all the time. Played the heck out of that Bugera for over a year! Same with guitars. I sold 2 Les Pauls here last winter. They were great guitars. I liked them both! I love buying stuff, playing it for a year or so, then sell it to fund something else. It's a fun hobby for me. I've sold a ton of guitars and amps I liked. I'm selling a wonderful SG right now in the classifieds that I like, had it for a couple of years. Now I'm selling it and I am going to buy something else. What on earth is wrong with you? You might need to get your medication checked.

Re: Bugera

Here is a pic from a few years ago. Guess what? I do not own one single of these items anymore. Sold every single one. Did I not like any of them? I liked all of them. I'm not married to them. I just like trying new things. Thanks for trying to state what you think people that you don't even know are thinking. Totall kills your credibility.

as you can see, still have the carpet. but down to 2 heads, the Rectifier and JMP and now only 2 electrics from 12! Who whould have thought a Bugera thread would be 3 pages! And none of the posters own one! I'll keep poking the bear when needed.

Re: Bugera

you are the funniest guy on the interweb!

I gave a list of many credible resources. All amps were store bought, read the reviews. A few guys on a guitar message board who don't own one?......I'll stick with "real sources".

However, you have been fun to toy with. Please keep up the good work, your posts, though confusing, are fun to mess with.

Hey, I have a Shiva on the way...........is it junk too? I should always ask here before I buy something. What was I thinking. Should I sell it at get an MG Series?

Re: Bugera

This is an observation ONLY:

I feel that guitar magazines are whores to whomever has the money. They seem to give great reviews to things that I KNOW are crap. I don't know a THING about the Bugera amp. It may kick ass or be a total piece of crap. But I sure wouldn't buy one based on what ANY guitar magazine has to say about them.

ALL guitar magazines are filled with so much BS and I've subscribed to every one of them in the past. I recently let my subscriptions to Guitar World and Vintage Guitar lapse. I still have a subscription to Guitar Player only because I find their reviews amusing, not because I believe them.

The trick is to get you to think that if you only had that one more pedal you could sound like (fill in the blank). Kinda reminds me of a strip club. Yeah, if I get one more lap dance, she's gonna go home with me....

Could be, but guitar forums are also full of poser guitar wannabees, that play their solidstate slammin' Marshall MG in their bedroom at the trailerpark and give their "so valuable" and wise opinion on things they know nothing about.

Try telling that to someone who needs help.Someone who actually believes the reviews.A sign of a crackhead is someone who sells all their gear then buys more...

Re: Bugera

FYI, it's not just Greg decrying the reliability of Bugera. There are several people out there who have made the same complaints he has: The manufacturer cut costs by using cheap components and connections. You can see a sampling here:

Bugera Amps 6262 Head: Harmony Central User Reviews

As I said before, even if we assume that the guitar magazines are giving these amps a fair shake, it really doesn't bear on their long term reliability where the reviewers usually have the amps for two months tops. I've heard enough word of mouth about these amps to be a little wary about their reliability, although the sound quality is supposed to be good.
