Best way to drive my jcm900??

A simple question I guess. Basically I just wanna push it over the edge to get a fatter tone really. I use a ge7 but thats for a solo boost in vol and mids. I wanna fatten up my normal tone. Whats the best way? mods? a pedal? I have the 4502. anyone else have one of these? what do you use?

Thank you!!

Look into a BBE Sonic Maximizer. They definitely improve your tone. :-)

Re: Best way to drive my jcm900??

I personally love JCM 900's and don't really think they only need a Sonic Maximizer and an EQ. So possibly look into that. :-)

EQ in the loop will fix you up on tone

Re: Best way to drive my jcm900??

Turn it up to 11 and go to town!

I used a sonic maximizer when I had my 900. It took a bit of the harshness out of the top end and made it sound bigger.

Re: Best way to drive my jcm900??

I had mine retubed and converted to 6L6's. That helped alot to warm up Ch.1 and take out the harshness that I had with it

an OCD will work wonders in conjuction with the GE-7. thats my basic set up and I love it.

Re: Best way to drive my jcm900??

I had a 900 and it had E34 as standard? I thought they all did? Anyway, they do have a thin somtimes fissy sound..is the gain! Well to get a fatter sound you have to have the master volume up loud at least 5 or 7 and control volume with the pre amp gain

good luck!

Re: Best way to drive my jcm900??

Leave it on the 100-watt setting, put it through the 4x12 cab of your choice AND TURN IT UP!

It works for me at least
