Jbl e-120
I've been concerned that the JBL D-120 in my 1x12 cab doesn't have the power capacity to handle my Traynor YRM-1 and I don't want to damage the JBL. So, I replaced it with a JBL E-120. The E-120 is a monster! 300 watts, weights 20 lbs, and has a 4" voice coil. You can see from the pictures the huge ceramic magnet. Although it's a completely different design than the D-120 I can't really hear a difference in tone. It's 2 db more sensitive and has more pronounced mids, but I can't hear it. It does allow me to crank the Traynor to the point where I don't want to be in the same house as it's so loud. Like the D-120 is has an aluminum dust cap which help project bright hi freqs. Now what to do with the D-120?
