Crate V33 2x12 Combo?

Any one use one of these? The price is great for an all tube amp and 2x12 speakers. Is there a catch?

I suppose with it being class A I will need some pedals to get any really high gain unless I crank it right up.

Other than that, what do you guys think of this amp? Will it be loud enough to gig with?

It really like my V33-212 a lot, but I came from cheap, crappy SS amps. I thought the clean channel sounded great right out of the box. I changed out the preamp tubes and it now gives a smooth, decent distortion on the OD channel, but I also have two other distortion boxes. It's very responsive, IMO. Getting one for $199.00 shipped leaves a boatload of extra cash for tubes, pedals, speaker upgrades or whatever else your heart desires. It's such a low risk purchase, b/c you can turn around and sell it for the same money if you don't like it.

With the right setup, it screams. Even with an attenuator, it will make your ears ache and you'll still have a hard time turning it off. I have mine set to a 12db cut and it's still extremely loud. Without the HotPlate, I can't turn the volume past about 2.
