Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
I'd have to pick one made of Unobtainum; probably a Trainwreck, maybe a Dumble. As far as more obtainable amps go, probably a Komet Constellation, the clips I've heard are amazing, and it has a somewhat unusual configuration.
Or the amp on the first Back to the Future movie. Or maybe one of those Gorilla practice amps I've heard so much about.

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
I'd like my '67 plexi back, with a matching cab with 20 watt celestions.
Since I know who has it now, it is not too likely that will happen any time soon. So barring that improbability, I think a low power tweed twin is my current dream amp.

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
I guess I'm lucky, I've been fortunate enough to have played thru Trainwrecks, Dumbles, Komets, etc...
It would be cool to own a Wreck or a Dumble, but not for the prices they go for. I just don't think they are worth anywhere near the money they command. I'd like to play though an old Hartley-Thompson preamp someday.

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
It hasn't been made yet. An amp that sounds like a Fender twin on one channel and a Marshall on the other....for less than $800.

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
I know me to, but Pete Townsend absolutely hated them
he was forced into using them on one of his US tours They are great for Clean playing though

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
I'd 'like' a 72 Marshall 50 watt because that's what Grissom had on the first Storyville album and the Joe Ely stuff.
My Reinhardt V50 NAILS that tone though. That and my Greer Thunderbolt 30....Im desert island prepared. If i had to keep one, probably the greer. It's amazing. |

Re: What is your Dream Amplifier ???
Even though I'm a Gibson man in terms of guitar, I am really digging Fender amps. the thing is, a good Fender amp will set you back pretty damn far, so I'll stick with Line6 for the moment, which is (IMO, please don't hate me
) the best bang for my buck. I got a Randall amp once. Boy, that's a piece of shit amp. |
