Video - Landry LS100 Amp

I'm just pasting the info I typed up for the YouTube video below:

Quote:
I'm using a crappy digital camera, but I hope the tones of this killer amp come across favorably. Landry is a brand new guitar amp maker based out of St. Louis, Missouri. He's a GREAT guy, awesome player, and has a golden ear for tone! I just bought the second LS100 sold and am proud to share this video of it with everyone!

His new amps (Landry Amps: Hand-Crafted Sound » Welcome) are all hand-built by him using some of the finest parts available. I describe this LS100 head as a SUPER versatile Marshall Plexi. It has all of the classic and modded Plexi tones on tap, but also a great master volume, line level effects loop, great sounding spring reverb, EQ controls that actually work, and a SUPER nice "Fender blackface" style clean channel.

In this video, I start out on the beautiful clean channel with some of the amp's built-in spring reverb, then I change some knobs on that same channel to get lighter distortion tones. This is an AWESOME feature in my opinion!

I then walk through channel 2, first without the "high gain" boost, then with it engaged. I switch the "high gain" boost off and on a time or two at the end. I'm not using the rack effects processor in this video, but the Landry loop works PERFECTLY with it (Rocktron Intellifex.)

If you love a nice vintage Fender clean tone AND the "perfect" stock and modded Marshall Plexi tones with features that make it versatile (effects loop, multiple channels, spring reverb, master volume, EQ that works, etc...), this is the amp to get.

The Landry LS100 has more "knock you in the gut" punch than any other amp I've played. It sounds HUGE! The real kicker is that it sounds this good at bedroom volumes too!!!

Hey, thanks! Since this is a Les Paul forum, I should probably say a little about the geetar...

It's an '06 R8 with stock electronics, except for a Rio Grande BBQ humbucker in the bridge. That pickup is PERFECT for this guitar. Everyone that hears it says it sounds huge and even though ALOT of that is from the guitar itself, alot is from that pickup too.

Landry makes some AMAZING stuff. End of story. I am envious of all people that have the pleasure of owning one.

Congrats, dude. You got #003, right?

Who knows, we might have #001, 002, and 003 lined up on a stage sometime soon.

Ah, that's true...

002, 003, and the Proto then.

BTW--Will, call Billy Landry; he needs 001 back for servicing.

Hey BB! I actually got 004 somehow. Is 003 the one at Dave's Guitar Loft or whatever? Maybe...

I swear that I really liked that Egnater Tourmaster. It was a GREAT sounding amp. But yeah, I had to take it back to GC to get enough money for this Landry. I don't regret it.

yeah, it's will be a few weeks it's being used by someone recording a new cd. I heard there some new mods are pretty cool. But I really like the amp, especially with some single coils...damn!

cool vid SgtThump!

Re: Video - Landry LS100 Amp

There is zero doubt that I'm on the honeymoon stage. I mean, I just got this amp yesterday. With that said...

Wow! This is one hell of a nice sounding amp to me. I've always been a Marshall guy and this amp is several "perfect" sounding Marshall Plexi amps rolled up into one. Excellent warm cleans, great SRV type of blues/classic rock breakup (on the clean channel alone), killer EVH-type tones, and hot-rodded '80s Marshall tones. It does all of that!!!

I'm very happy with my purchase right now...
