Orange Amps

I searched and was unable to find this so, sorry if its been covered. I have been very interested in orange for a while, but am afraid it wouldn't get the sound I am looking for. I like blues and classic rock, so here is my request, anybody that has ANY of the Orange tube amps, could you post some videos or sound clips playing blues and nothing heavier that Led Zeppelin. I would greatly appreciate it. All I can find on youtube is people playing thrash or just balls out gain and that is not what I want. Thanks.

Re: Orange Amps

Orange is one of the best amps for good ole' rock n' roll, period.

They are one of the most sought after amps in the world for a reason! Sadly I do not have any videos of myself playing them, but if I may direct you to a good buddy of mine for some assistance.

When it comes to things regarding ORANGE and video... Search up a dude by the name of Rob Chappers. He will shows you tons of different tones for a lot of different amps.

Also *warning shameless plug* if you are interested in getting an Orange, shoot me a PM. My shop carries everything you could want along the lines of Orange.

Re: Orange Amps

I love the Orange Tiny Terror. It's a hell of an amp for the size. Wish I had one. Fantastic for rock/blues.
You mentioned Led Zeppelin so....Jimmy Page actually used Orange amps for the LZ reunion concert last Dec at the O2 London. Just imagine, JP could have any amp in the world he wants and he picked Orange, so that says something about them!

Re: Orange Amps

My experience with Orange amps is the AD30 which I compared with the Marshall JTM45 and 1987x. I found that Orange 'crispier' but ultimately a little weaker and less chimey (even though Orange are known for being chimey)

I guess I've never thought of Orange amps as "chimey". They seems to have a little bit of darkness and warmth - really accenting the lower mids. They can get muddy if you don't EQ well.

I used to have an AD30tc and it was awesome! Unfortunately too large for my needs.

For blues and rock, there's a pretty stout following for the Rocker and Rockerverb series. A Rocker 30 or Rockerverb 50 should suit you nicely!
