Tiny Terror Recall

Urgent Recall Notice – DO NOT IGNORE

Orange Amplification
Tiny Terror Head

We have become aware that some Tiny Terror Heads sold between October 2007 and August 2008 have a manufacturing defect.

The defect is in the transformer and may be unsafe. If you have any units in stock it is important that they are returned to Orange Music for modification immediately. Korean built units are not affected by this notice.

We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you and assure you of our prompt attention at all times.

Risk of electric shock while you're playing?!? Or is it if you open the thing up?

you may want to call your dealer, if you have it registered with orange you should receive a letter or e-mail on how to get your fixed if it is the china version.

Re: Tiny Terror Recall

If you own a Tiny Terror head please check the serial number on the rear of the amplifier.

The affected models are clearly marked ‘Made in PRC’ and have serial numbers as follows;

L070910001 to L070910989
L071110101 to L071110854
L080210001 to L080210986
L080410001 to L080410406
L080810001 to L080810964

These were made for the EU market but some could have their way to other parts of the world.

Re: Tiny Terror Recall

I didn't realize they were Asian made. I don't doubt that they rock F'n hard, but they seem a little overpriced for a Chinese amp... My Laney GH50L was only a couple hundred more, and is British!

I'm just thinking out loud. I'd really like to play a TT sometime - no Orange dealers around here, though...

Re: Tiny Terror Recall

Orange is British, but the TT are made in China...like some of the solid state Marshalls are made in either China or Korea.

Right, but for the price I was certain that it was one of their Brit made models...

Ours was half the price for the TT than what we paid for the Marshall heads. It wasn't that bad, IMO....not for an all tube amp anyway. I didn't know they were made in China...but Bole did.

Re: Tiny Terror Recall

If I had a TT that was recalled I'd ask them to just send me a partial refund so I could put the money towards a Mercury Magnetics upgrade transformer set. That's the closest to a US-made Tiny Terror you're gonna get.

According to Orange only the Oranges sold in the UK and EU are affected by this recall.

The TT is phenomenal. Chinese or not, that is a lot of amp for the money. Period.

Not to derail thread, but when I found out that the Vox AC50 CP2 was not made in the UK just like the AC30 and AC15, I was totally turned off primarily because of the price. If they charged the $$$ befitting a Chinese-made amp, then yes...if its quality, sounds good, etc. But to command a price that's usually asked for USA made or UK made amplifiers, well...isn't that something else?

No. This recall came before the combos were around.
