Fixing a vox

We've had this Vox ad100vht hanging around for a few years and it worked fine up until last night. On the back there's a knob that controls the power level and I'm pretty sure it took a sh*t on us.

Has anyone ever just removed that contraption and bypassed it in other amp heads containing them with decent results?
I live in an area where fix it shops are none and few in between and the head ain't worth a lot of money but if it's salvageable I'd like to keep it around as it does make quiet a bit of noise when it's working.

At the moment it won't let out 100th of a watt and I fart louder than that.

Re: Fixing a vox

Well thanks for looking folks. Strangest thing........I sprayed some Leumas lube I have handy here, right into the Pot and spun it around for a few minutes and fired it right up. Louder now and plenty of Vox chime again.

Thanks Leumas. That stuff works miracles.

Re: Fixing a vox

Thanks Mosrats.
Maybe the Mods can nuke this thread for me and it won't take up space as I don't think I'm going to find anyone that's bypassed one of those power levels on the rear of a head.

Nuke it please.
