Red face Routing two amps ?

Hi !

I got two amps, and I always wondered if i could use both of them to get new sounds (like using one as a preamp, and the other as a pwramp)

Specs :

Fender Frontman 212R combo
-100w solid state combo
-2 channels (clean/drive)
-2 inputs (on the same channel, 0/-10dB)
-2x12" 8ohm speakers (directly routed on the amp )
-Effect loop (Pwr in/Pre out, I suppose I should use those)
-Spring reverb (connected to the amp with a RCA, can I use it independently of the amp ?)

Blackheart BH15
-15W all tube class A head (ECC83/EL34)
-1 channel (Triode/Pentode switchable)
-1 input
-4/8/16 ohm outputs
-1 1x12" 16ohm matched cabinet
-No effect loop/reverb

My questions are :
-What kind of routing can I do, and what would blow my amps ?
-Wich amp can I use as a preamp/pwramp
-Can I use my Fender's speaker with my Backheart ?
-Can I use that spring reverb independently of my fender combo ?
-Where should I put my effects ?

Thanks !

Re: Routing two amps ?

Just get a good A/B/Y pedal and you can use them at the same time (a la Bonamassa)

You could get one of these and stick it between your Blackheart's amp & speaker. ($90 for a 25w version / $110 for a 50w version)

This will give you a line out that you can run to your Fender's effects loop return. That will give you your Blackheart's tube grind in your Fender because your Fender will just be used as a power amp. You also put your time based effects here before the Fender. This will give you a nice wet/dry rig.

Re: Routing two amps ?

I use a memory man to split my signal. One out to a Fender Showman, one out to a JC-120. dial in some grind on one, have a pedal for the other.
