NAD + a thing I need help with :)
Hi guys!
Yesterday I got a Fender Blues JR III. I like it very much, the three band EQ enables me to get some nice blackface-ish tones. Sweet! But there's one thing that's buggin me - the amp stays really clean throughout the huge part of the preamp volume scale. I mean at half of the scale the amp is still clean. At 8/12 there's a little bit of dirt. About 10-12/12 I start to get some crunchy tones. I'm kinda concerned because I got a B-stock amp - someone played it and returned it to the store, but it's basically a brand new amp. The thing that makes me even more suspicious is that the preamp volume knob is moving looser and easier than the other knobbies. Can it be that there's something wrong with the amp? I'm playing a strat with 57/62 pickups, but they're quite close to the strings as I lovered my bridge recently and haven't got around to adjusting their height. Can anyone tell me something about how the amp breaks up with a strat? Is the situation as I described it normal? I might be a liitle too used to my AC15 that basically started to break up anywhere over 50% of preamp volume... Sorry for a lenghty post, but I really hope that you guys could help me out. Cause if the amp is faulty I can get it easily replaced, but I do not want to make a fool of myself and call the cavalry when it's not necessary. Thanks for your help in advance! PS. Tomorrow morning I will make a short video illustrating my problem, but I'd e really happy if somebody could tell me something right now

Sounds normal to me also. I find that amp is a fun way to compare pickups.
But, that's my taste love the blues and stones type music. |

I am honestly starting to think that the blues jr is not an amp for me... Good thing is that I can return it and get a full money refund withing 30 day from purchase. Here's a video illustrating what I was talking about:
I hate those moments of confusion ;/ |
