NAD - Sweet Mother of Tone!
Hi all.
Today I received my Germino Classic 45 amp and I am blown away. I was planning on waiting a few days before I made this post, but I just couldn't wait. I'm too excited. This amp is simply amazing in tone and feel. I plugged in my CR58, rolled back the bass and maxed the mids and treble and away I went. The different inputs give brighter/warmer options and I like the variety of tones. The amp can do Page and Angus with total ease and the ability to go from clean breakup to full-on crunch eliminates the need for me to use pedals for my gain. It's not brittle or too bassy. It's just right to my ears. I went with the UK-made Heritage 20 watt Celestion speakers on Greg's recommendation and they are just what I hoped they would be. The lower wattage capabilities definitely helps keep the volume in check so that I can dime the amp. In fact, my wife was home while I was playing and she never once complained about the volume. Greg said it would be great in a club environment and I totally agree. The amp oozes quality and it was packed the way you would want a costly piece of gear to be packed. Thanks to all on this site who directed me to the Classic 45 and thanks to Mr. Germino for providing access to such great tone. My only regret is that I didn't have this amp 20 years ago. I would have saved myself a load of cash. Rock on. |
