Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Yea those American Vox amps sounded great
never understood why they had SS in the US and Tube in the UK from Vox. I had a Vox Essex Bass amp, Westmnister amp, and Vox Royal Guardsman, they all were great sounding amps for Solid State The old Acoustic guitar amps were great to, and GMT, and Bruce

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Yamaha G series.
I have a G50 Two Ten. Awesome cleans. Very Twin like. Takes a pedal very well also. They also made 100w versions... Killer amps. |

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Mine was a Peavy Renown. The really old ones. I think they came out with a Renown II??? or something like that but the ones before sounded good. The IIs not so much. Me and my other guitarists in our band then both had one. That was a while ago

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Still using Fender 212R for some cleans, and its pretty decent... Altho it cant compare to some stack SS amps as much as I've played....

I agree...Tech 21 Trademark 60 is just badass! I also favor the Peavy Bandit.

Marshall VS265R
It's seen so many bars and drunken pickup truck rides, yet still sounds great.. [IMG] [/IMG]not mine, reference pic.. |

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Fender frontman´s have a good sound. The roland cubes 30, 80 too. If just cleans and pedals are what you need, you can try bass amps to. I´ve played a lot on a small bass amp, with a 10" speaker with amazing cleans.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Marathon mx-11, sounds cool with single coils.
also, dunno if it counts, it's kinda half and half, but a Fender Super-champ XD, the original run before they added computer modelling and stuff, sounds great with anything.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Roland BC-60 Blues Cube.
Close your eyes, you'd swear it's a tube amp.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Big Muff through a Roland is instant 90's distortion.
I love the JC amps. They make another pre-amp I want, but I don't own one yet and every time I say I want something, it seems like the price goes up.....

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I recently bought a ZT Lunchbox amp, and gigged with it this weekend.
Delivered the goods and then some.... ![]() No more heavy amps for me from now on.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I guess my favourite would be the Pathfinder 15r. I saw that one of MLP users has a head + cab version. That must sound sweet!
My luthier owns a Squier Champ 10 SS amp, and this thing sound also really great. He uses it for quick testing guitars nad it's sitting on a shelf quite high above his head. Everytime I visit him I noodle through this amp - it sounds very nice. I don't know if the amp itself is so good or is there something magical about the room and the way the amp is positioned so high above the ears... |

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I built a cabinet about that size, when I lived in Fort Worth. The weight of the thing was ridiculous.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I've had many ss amps over the years (and tubies as well... and one hybrid Marshall Artist 30 head). At present I have and like my Princeton Chorus DSP combo (that replaced an 80's red knob Princeton), an Ultimate Chorus combo, and finally a V-Ampire modeling head just for recording. They are all different and have their place and sounds that are at times especially usable.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I've still got a Performer 2x12 and a Power Baby 1x12 somewhere. Gigged with them for years. MOSFET powered gave them a real tube-like break up. Great amps

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
I really liked the old Poly Mini Brute, but they are very expensive.
![]() Have any of you tried these? ![]() I'm running an AB setup with a 15 inch SS Bassamp on A and a 10 inch Hybrid VOX VT30 on B.

Re: What's your favourite solid state amp?
Vox Pathfinder 15R
I have the standard little 1 x 8 combo and I have one of the rarer heads with a 4 x 8 (a prized craigslist score)....
