Studio Slips clamshell for my 65amps Lil Elvis (PICS)

I finally got around to ordering a cover for my 65amps lil Elvis.
I have already worked with Studio Slips on the slip covers for my Royal Albert, but this time I wanted to do their flagship, double padded, Clamshell, leather pads, extra pocket, and brown. Such a sick color.
The zipper is super super heavy duty, which really makes a difference in how durable it feels. It doesn't bind or jitter. And all the stiching and angles fit the amp like a glove.

That thing looks snug as a bug in there! Great looking cover, and actually looks like it will offer a lot of protection. Seems like the perfect solution for the weekend player....much easier to deal with than a flight case.

That cover looks great and, like rocknhorse said, way more practical than a flight case.

Those pictures are also gorgeous. How do you get the soft lighting and focus like that?

Yeah, it fits bang on, super easy to get the amp in and out of, as the cover opens and closes around the amp, so you just set it in there, and don't need to fumble with the amp as you close the cover on it. Set it down, zip up, and pick up.

I regret not having ordered the clamshell for my larger amp (2 years ago when I went with the padded slip covers, which are still quite functional. just thought it would be harder to mess with the cab, but now I see that there would be no issue whatsoever), and I just might end up doing that later on.

Thanks!

I'm pretty comfortable with my camera's manual settings (I shoot using a DSLR, Canon EOS 400D, and these were all done with an 18-55mm lens)
Pretty much found out how to get what I want after a few years of trial and error, and tons of reading.

I see. I use a 450D, which is one step down, but can't seem to master that soft lighting that makes a good slr photo significantly better than a point and shoot. They always end up a little too sterile.

depending on light, ISO at 400 or 800
in Tv mode, adjust shutter as far right (1/large number) as you can before it gets too dark, and the start backing it off, until you see the image hit that light zone you want.

Thanks, that's probably the best advice i've ever been given camera-wise

Your welcome.

The other thing you can do to fine tune is adjust the exposure by holding the Av+/- button located next to the top right corner of the LCD display, and rotating the same wheel to over or under expose the shot.

I've played around with that a little, as it always seemed to me that the camera overexposed the shots when set to the default (middle)

Hey fellow Edmontonian!

Dude... that looks awesome! I just ordered some covers for my Phaez head and Voltage cabinet. I wish I had seen this padded cover first.

Great amps too!!

Is the 65 Empire next on your list?

Wow - great amps! Love the art deco look of the 65 Amps stuff an the tones are to die for. One day - I will get a Stone Pony 1x12 and an Empire Head + 2x12 ... one day ...

Oh yeah - neat clamshell soft case. Do those guys ship internationally?

And yes, the Empire is on my list, but not till the early bird gearheads start to sell them.
I do already have a Royal Albert, which definitely covers the high volume ground. But the Empire is one of those really cool revolutionary type amps.
A british voiced 6v6 powered MV amp? definitely missing from my collection.

They spent a lot of time designing them, much like many things of the 50's and 60's, which is one of my favourite periods.

My Phaez Duophonic has a JTM circuit (along with a Blackface circuit) and is 6V6 based with a Master Volume. I'm really digging it so far. If you are interested in checking it out, let me know.

hahaah, thanks.

I don`t normally play that type of stuff nor as gained up, but I did the video as a quick demo to show a buddy that a P-90, and a non master volume amp could sound super thick, crunchy, maintain clarity, and not hum when used properly.
I just had my mic to low and not close enough to the amp.

Yeah that `56 junior completely out crunches so many of my guitars. I am such a vintage P-90 convert after getting that thing.
