Gibson used them in the GA30RVT Crestline Invader.

Re: Rca 7591 ?

I've got them in my '66 Ampeg Gemini I. Great sounding tubes in this amp. 65 Amps just put out a model that uses them forget the name though. Great amp (I know, big suprise - a great amp from 65). Westinghouse is the grail in that tube. Don't know much about the RCA version. JJ & EH are the only current production as far as I know. If you don't keep them, let me know - always good to have more than 1 back-up.

Re: Rca 7591 ?

My friend's old Ampeg uses them. I think that New Sensor is starting a new line of them, since a lot of older Ampegs, and obscure amps used them, and their supply is diminishing.

According to the information I could find RCA didn't actually manufacture the 7591, they bought them from Sylvania or sometimes Westinghouse. Just a cursory investigation shows that a matched quad of those babies could fetch a pretty penny.

This is a handy link for checking EIA codes to see who actually manufactured the tube (or speaker, etc). Commonly Seen EIA Codes

That is a good one Case, I have had it in my bookmarks. Comes in handy when buying tubes or dating them....not actually taking them out for drinks or anything, but like finding the date they were made. I had to explain that, I didn't want anyone to think I was weird or something.
