Laney Amplification is a British brand of guitar/bass guitar amplifiers and cabinets, and also public address systems.

Garnet
Traynor
ENGL
Diezel

And... if you want to get technical...

Most of the major US and UK companies are producing the majority of their stuff in China now... Marshall, Orange, Vox, Soldano (JCA), Egnater, etc.. there's more but my mind just went blank.

Re: Name Some Non-American/British -made Amps

My Mongrell amp is made here in Oz, by me, designed by Jim Wills.

Eminar is an old Oz brand. They made excellent amps and PA heads. In fact, their PAs made really mean, clean guitar amps. AC/DC used to use them, then switched to 100 W Marshalls, then had to switch to 200 W Marshalls to regain the bite of the Eminars at higher volume for a long time. Apparently even a 100 W JMP gets noticeably softer after a couple of hours of floggin.

Goldentone is another. I've played some of their combos, and they are really cool amps. A bit like blackface Fenders, but using some unusual valves. They used a 6L6 equivalent with an end cap, for example. It was cheap as chips and very plentiful because it was used for horizontal beam control in black and white TVs. Still around and still cheap, if you want to mod your 6L6 amp to take an end cap. They also used some of those funky little noval valves that have a triode from a 12AX7 and a pentode like an EL84 in the same envelope. Again, cheap and plentiful, and they allow a resourceful designer to make a cool amp with only a handful of valves.

Currently there's Ashton, but while they're an Oz company, the amps are made in China to their spec.

There are a lot of boutique builders out here though. Peter Nessfield makes a superb one, for those living in Perth.

Laboga. Made by Adam laboga in Poland. I have been using them for years now. Not expensive, hand made, and inexpensive. 50 watt all tube head and 4x12 cab with celestion v30s for 900 euros. That was about 1300 bucks in us dollars when I bought it. Built like a tank, sounds amazing.

I've got a Diason - made in Australia, 1960's 6 watt all-tube thing. Sounds great, Champ influence very noticeable. If my mate Ed ever finishes with his loan of it, I'll post some photos.

Re: Name Some Non-American/British -made Amps

I have a Moody GA12 Vibralux, an all valve amp made in Sydney, Australia way back when, 60's, 70's not really sure. Needs a good overhaul as I haven't played through it in years and am unsure of how safe it is to plug in. Another thing on the "to do" list.
