New amp is in, pulled the trigger!

Hey guys. My last thread here was on the Acoustic B200H and cab. Well, I played it yesterday at the Natick MA GC, and I gotta tell ya, THIS THING KICKS ASS!!!!! Granted, I don't have a ton of bass experience, but I did gig with a GREAT bass player for quite a bit and know what sounds good and what doesn't. For my money, it came down to the Galien Kruger stuff, and the Acoustic line. The Galien K stuff was certainly more of a "modern" sound, and quite a surging bottom end at decent levels, but at loud levels each and every cab I played this Backline 600 thru was absolutely farting out. And I had no use for the "distortion" channel which sounded like a Line 6 "insane" channel or something. Not my style. This Acoustic B200H is sweet vintage looking, solid as hell, and sounds so good its almost confusing. It sounds too damn good at any setting I adjust it too. I can't make it sound bad! I didn't have the dough for the B115(15"cab) yesterday, but in a week and a half I'll go back and pick it up. This half stack is LOUD, full, sweet, dynamic, just perfect. The head was $249 (200watts), the B115 is only $199, and the B410(4x10cab) is only $249. If I feel the need to get crazy in a couple of months, I'll have a full bass stack up to my cans, and vaporize the lovely patrons. I'm too much of a guitar gear snob to consider less expensive "compromised" stuff, but with bass being my 2nd thing, and what I actually have to gig, this is the best "bang for the buck" line I've ever tested out, and definately recommend it to anyone thats broke like me, but is too stubborn to sound bad LOL! In fact, this rig RAWKS!!! Here's a few pics of the head, cab soon to follow......................

Do it! Buy one!

Re: New amp is in, pulled the trigger!

I might just speed up the process and pick up the cab this coming weekend. It'll hurt. but certainly be worth it. I've known of the old acoustic line since I was a kid. I have a family friend that was in a big funk band in the 70's and into the early 80's, played with some big names, and had an acoustic 360 with the folded 18" cab in storage into the 90's. His bass player was said to have purchased it 3yrs old directly from Jaco in the 70's. I don't know what kind of money a stack like that would bring, but if he still has it, it hasn't been used in almost 30 years! Wonder if he'd part with it........
Either case, this new rig does it for me!

Re: New amp is in, pulled the trigger!

360's are monsters they would be
worth a hell of alot now days.

I never owned one but got to use a few
over the years at concerts, they really
sounded nice.
The 200 series have the same tone to them
as the big ones though, they are built very well.
Even thier guitar amps were great

Sure, heck the best Marshall amp is a Super Bass for guitar
the Dual Showman is also a bass amp and used for guitar
just change the settings a little more for guitar sound
