There are a couple of places here in southern Ontario that have them in stock. If you want one maybe they could ship it to you? Check the website for Central Music in the Niagara area. I've never been there but they have a very good reputation. Also L&M have the head on their website now so they might have some at their warehouse which could be shipped out.

Re: New Marshall: Class 5 Head

sweet!!
Great sounding amp, the eq really works well on it,
and the little sucker through a Vintage 30 is pretty freakin loud
So im using my OCD with it, and its perfect for it, on both
fender and marshall settings.
The cool thing is it weighs about as much as a guitar, so its
easy to move around

Re: New Marshall: Class 5 Head

finally got mine last night.

tried it through a 10" speaker at the store. although it was loud, it wasn't absurd. played it through my 12" at home and wow....much louder...might I even say too loud?

this might have to be my basement rig until i have some cahs laying around for an attenuator....as its far too loud for my upstairs room.

i also found that at 1 its fairly quiet, clean, at 3 its loud....the taper is...well... non existent it seems compared to my ac15. from 3-6 it doesnt change much in volume just tone, then at 6-10 it gets a touch louder but more overdriven...

Did you try the bedroom trick yet (plugging the cab halfway into the headphone jack)? Works very well.

How is plugging into the head phone jack any more trouble than flipping a switch?

Re: New Marshall: Class 5 Head

The combo has another switch.

Regardless I returned mine. It's far too loud. Even for regular practice.

Unfortunate be ause it's a great sounding amp

I bet it sucks to find a sweet sounding amp and then be forced to return because of the volume ;(

Re: New Marshall: Class 5 Head

I dig this amp. I had to get it in the head version. I heard that they were being discontinued but, that might be hogwash, who knows? For a low watter I also dig my Blackstar HT-1. They both sound cherry through a 12" Jensen in my Fender BJ: Here are a few shots of some of the toys:

Re: New Marshall: Class 5 Head

I bought the class5 combo and was a little disappointed with it but I can see where it could defiantly fit the bill for a practice amp but I have really been interested in getting the Blackstar 5 watt head for the gain, I don't need it just looks like it would be fun to have. Nice gear btw Cheers
