Re: Twin Reverb or Super Reverb?

Black Face, I think he meant. As in the colour of the Fender control panel between the Tweeds and 1968.

Re: Twin Reverb or Super Reverb?

I get the Blackface, I figured he thought Bloomfield or Butterfield were two separate words.

Re: Twin Reverb or Super Reverb?

My buddy has an "Evil" Twin. I have never actually plugged into it but he says its actually a very modern sounding amp. I know it is loud as anything and very heavy.

he also just picked up a 1970's Fender Dual Showman head for $60 at a pawn shop. I think it had been dropped or something, there is a dent on the back panel...nothing big just a small spot. Anyway he took it to the Amp tech we use and he blackfaced it and replaced the tubes and caps ect. Anyway it actually sounds pretty good at a low volume for a 100w amp. I am using it while my H&K is getting re-biased, and it does have a good tone with a pedal in front of it... you cant stand in the room with it if you try to get it to break up on its own lol. Still has a vintage sound to it.

Re: Twin Reverb or Super Reverb?

Yeah, LOUDER isn't better to me anymore, TOO clean, I need some gain! And I put a Gain pedal, and it didn't do me in like the Super did.

Yeah, but it was an excuse for me to post a pic of my Super Reverb, so I had to do it.

Love that amp!
