Green or gold would work, or both; gold piping around the face plate and green at the corners and middle.

Hmmm... I like it.

Now I need to save some $$$.

Some a-hole stole my catalytic converter last week. Spent my head cab money on a replacement.

Bob at Sour Mash will hook you up for a very reasonable price.

Regardless of who builds it, I would love to see some pics when it is completed. I bet it will be one sweet and unique looking amp!

Already emailed him and got a quote - great prices for what they do, that's for sure. I'm just waiting a week or two to pull the trigger. I had work done on my truck & bought a new (to me) Traditional last week then paid for my Jackal today.

My bank account hurts.

Looks amazing! What setup for the cab did you get(speakers, etc) and what was the ballpark cost of the cab, if you don't mind me asking. I'm going to order a JTM from Randy but I'll need a cab too. Thanks. Rob

Phaez JTM 18 owners!

Hello! I really want to order one of Randy's JTM amps. Been watching the YouTube vids and love them. Someone recently put up a vid of themselves playing a JTM 18 at very low bedroom volumes and it was sweet.

So... I was going to ask Randy to build a lower watt JTM but maybe I should get the 18? I play mostly at home but I have some low watt (1 and 5 watt) amps and maybe it would be nice to have something that can go louder even if I wouldn't use it that loud very often? What do you think? Thanks. Rob

The clips Roscoe & Rich made are of the original JTM18 and they do some at bedroom levels. Sounds killer there. I know Randy's master volume is very effective in all of his amps - my 10W Daisycutter included.

That being said...

I ordered the JTM18 (Jackal) and will use it at apartment-level for home playing/practice and I'll also use it for small gigs with a normal drummer.

chris.

The JTM does low volume very well. I have the 18 watter and I love it. Sounds great at all volumes. It would be a great choice.

I'm from NC and had never heard of it before. Apparently this is some kind of big thing in Chicago. The palladium in the older ones is valuable. They get about $200 a piece for them at the wrecking yard.

They target trucks and SUVs because their ground clearance makes it easier. They use a portable saw - cutting one off takes about 2 minutes.

Believe me, I was pissed. My building doesn't have secure parking - street only.

Whatcha gonna do?

Moved to south Charlotte at the beginning of high school & lived in Wilmington for 10 years or so after (undergrad and grad school). Just moved to Chicago this time last year.

Miss it every day.

+1

My JTM 18 gets all sorts of tone/gain at low volumes. Hell, I haven't even cranked it yet, but that will change this Friday.

I'm somewhat blown away by the MV on my HRM Daze. Its 45 watts, and yet, I can play at bedroom volumes and still get a great tone. I can't imagine 18 would be too much.

F*cking tweakers.

Randy must be hammering away. I sent him an email for a new amp about 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything.

I want:
20-30w MV
treb/mid/bass controls
6L6 (6V6, EL34)
EFX loop
Looking for that modern Mesa Single rec tone. I use pedals for distortion so I like lotsa headroom.

I am running a Weber C1225 (G12M clone) and Weber Legacy G12H clone, both pre-Rola. For the head cab and speaker cab you are looking around $400-$500 for both. Weber had their Legacy speakers on sale for $99 each so you could get a deal there.

Re: Phaez JTM 18 owners!

Randy's master volume works very well on the JTM 18...with that said, it sounds incredible when driven hard and can get CRAZY loud. It absolutely NAILS the Beano sound when required but can also dial in Zeppelin "Heartbreaker" tone.

I realised something yesterday. The name Phaez, it's sort of a play on words right?

Randy Fay - Fay's - Phaez!

Maby i'm the last guy on the forum to get this, but it just struck me as a clever thing.

Anyone have a Phaez Winona?

I have been looking at these, the 2 channel thing looks really appealing. I know the DC is pretty high gain. How is the other channel for cleans? And also, does anyone know the dimensions of the chasis? I have an old marshall head that doesnt work but would be a sweet head cab for another chasis. I play classic rock (stones cover band, Let It Bleed, we're on youtube!) and also Thrash Metal. If I had a two channel amp to cover both of these styles that would rock! I know Phaez will do anything I want, but I'm ready to go now so if something he has ready to ship would work that would be great. thanks.....
