re: Phaez Amps [merged]
it's ~15 watt, 6v6 based on the old Tweed champ, volume, tone (turned left enhances bass, bypassed at noon, and to the right enhances treble), bass cut ( to keep it from farting out when I dime it), and a master volume that is bypassed when cranked. The speaker will be a 12" Weber.

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
I wonder how Singlecut is getting on with his new Daisycutter?
![]() Tuya, good to hear you got the amp back. I know what you mean, I hadn't played mine in a while, then I plugged her in and WOW!! It is pretty unforgiving with my sloppy playing though. The touch sensitivity is amazing, I find I have to be very accurate while doing bends and with my picking as well, which has been difficult because I have a new disc problem in my neck, and my right thumb and arm are going numb. It just keeps getting better..

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
I was hoping to fire her up today but 1) she didn't come with a power cord so I went to buy one, finally found the right one and it was three prong... nothing in this damn country is three prong!!!!! next I got my speaker cable and got a good deal too but when I was looking at the cabs... all two used ones I could find that weren't freaking 15" sub with a tweeter, they were way to high. I mean like $100 for a
crappy low end Fender cab loaded with.... 6 5" speakers?????? I am hitting the other two shops I know tomorrow; maybe I can find a proper cable and cab to use until the ones I want are ready.

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
do you have a combo? You can use that speaker for the time being. Given that the ohms match and the speaker wattage is acceptable. Just do not power up the combo without the speaker plugged back in.

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
When indeed?
I've been trying to get in contact via the webpage email (sales@phaez.com, or something) but with no success. Should I be using a different email? I know patience is a virtue and good things take time, and all that jazz, but I first sent a message last August... |

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
Well, the DUOPLEX is now in its new home, and as Bill stated it was well worth the wait! I got it a few days after Christmas, and I'm still just in the beginning stages of checking out all it can do.
The clean sounds on the Blackface channel are beautiful - couldn't ask for anything more. Every nuance of the playing comes out...which will force me to pay more attention to certain details of my playing! The Plexi channel sounds great too, but so far I've only been able to check it out at bedroom volumes. It does have a master, so I can crank the gain up without getting too loud, and it does sound really nice even at the lower volumes. At lower gain, there are some nice cleans there. At medium to higher gain settings, you've got the moderate break-up thing going (still not too dirty but definitely some 'hair' on it). With the gain dimed there's a good crunch going, but without the power tubes working it's still not a really dirty sound. I'll probably use a boost of some kind if I want some heavy dirt at the lower volumes. There's still a lot for me to explore on this channel, and I'm anxious to hear it with the power tubes contributing to the crunch! BTW, Bill did you get a chance to really crank this thing up loud when you played it? |

re: Phaez Amps [merged]
It took some weeks before I had a chance to open mine full throttle.
