pickup spring specs help

Can someone help me find stiffer springs for installing pickups/ humbuckers in a Les Paul, I need to know (stewmac is no help) where to buy and what the size and dia. of the springs are for les paul pickups as when I install pickups with no covers they wobble, I believe a stiffer spring will fix this.

I dont have any I can measure but you might be able to get some from McMaster-Carr. It looks like there were 6 or 7 options for wire size.
You will have to buy a long spring and cut it down. Good luck!

Re: pickup spring specs help

Don't buy new ones, just unmount your pickups, disassemble the mounting rig, and stretch out your springs by hand. I did this and my wobble was gone. Just pull on them with a tiny little bit of force, holding on to the very edges of the springs. Don't pull too hard, just hard enough to stretch them, and hold the stretch there for a few seconds. Repeat 2-3 times.

Re: pickup spring specs help

longer pup springs usually help, no need for a stiffer one. (technically longer will be stiffer when its compressed) you can also try X's suggestion before buying anything too
