RIP BB King :(

Just heard on the BBC news channel that he has unfortunately passed away.
Really sad times.

Thank you Mr King for indirectly contributing to my guitar playing...

Funny timing, was listening to a couple of BB's albums before I became aware he was dying

My condolences to his family

Re: RIP BB King :(

I think it's a well deserved break, though. Over 300 gigs a year for most of his life isn't bad.

I'm very sad to learn of his death, but somewhat relieved. I'm happy for everything he has left us. The legacy and catalogue of music is next to none. You can get a full and comprehensive music education from his songs alone.

R.I.P. BB King - 1925 - 2015

Thought this was worth a thread (now there's two). He's the reason MANY out there picked up the Guitar, including Eric Clapton. And a Gibson loyalist if there ever was one.

He played for us all, 'till he couldn't play no more.

I'll miss the Beale street boy, and never forget.

It's appropriate I weep tonight.

Sad news for sure, though I guess not unexpected given his age and his recent health problems.

RIP BB.

First thing I heard when I turned on the radio. Just missed the song. "ain't nobody home" the announcer said and I knew.

Sad day for music and the world in general. The world is a little emptier now.

Re: RIP BB King :(

B.B. King spread joy to millions by giving them the blues.

The iconic musician, along with his ever-present guitar Lucille, spent nearly 70 years thrilling audiences and spreading the music he learned as a poverty-stricken youth in the Mississippi Delta all over the world.

King, 89, died in Las Vegas, his attorney announced late Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
