No, I wish! I don't think the buyer was ever revealed. In the original thread, one our members said the owner wanted $280-$320K.

Don't know who has it but it has to be one if not the cleanest burst in existence.

I remember everybody calling bull**** on the op of the original thread. Then the first pic comes in and they quickly ate some crow. Damnit what a lucky sob to run on that thing!!

Alex this Burst sold for a price of USD315,000 - USD335,000.

I can't say the exact amount but I am sure you can work it out.

Cheers, Rudi

I particularly enjoyed seeing all those that crashed & burned. As we know, it was legit & the owner was a great guy & straight up.

I can't believe it sat for about a year before selling. This one is worthy of a collector series.

Thanks for the photo archive! Never grabbed pics the first time.

Was a partial serial number ever revealed? Would be nice for my records with the pics.

It was because it is in the burst log but don't remember without going thought the log to find it.

It's so awesome of a guitar, it get's an extra "T" in 'burst'.

It's so stunning. The burst is perfect. However seeing guitar pics without strings drives me nuts. Especially this one.

Re: Pristine 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Revisited

I'm not at all a fan of a guitar in a case or behind glass. But this one don't need playing. It's a near perfect example. I had a 37' tb-75 Gibson mastertone banjo that was the same way. Just perfect. No metal pitting no finish checking or fading. Mint!! A few examples like this would be fine just for posterity in my opinion. In 50 years some kid may want to know what a real 50s burst looked like new. Well there it is!

Re: Pristine 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Revisited

I remember when the original thread was started, it looked looked it was going sideways at first then all of a sudden pics were posted.

One of my comments then was that it was great to see an original unfaded Burst, kind of legitimizes the colors currently offered by Gibson.

Maybe I'd think differently if I were that rich. But I hope I would think the way I do now, and take it out and rock it hard like any other Standard.

I was also intrigued by that original thread. Crazy clean Burst for sure. Do I see an off-center seam on the top, or is it the photo angle? If so, kinda makes it even more interesting...

Just to shift a little on the subject of the this Beautiful Burst, I picked up these Pickup covers the other day, And it blows me away how close they appear to resemble the original covers on this burst IMO, Here a few photo's

Boy you're right - the new colors are extremely close to that. The top seam is definitely off-center. The finest example I've ever seen.

Did someone change the tuners? in the first picture they look all brown and shrunk, and in the other pictures they look new, or is it just because of the lighting?
