Austin Les Paul?

I have my Dot up for trade and someone offered an Austin Les Paul-style guitar.
It has a bunch of decent upgrades, but I can't find a lot about this brand.
Anyone have any experience?
Thanks.

I played one the other day, unamplified. It was okay, but not inspiring enough for me to plug it in and give it a full go-'round.

Inexpensive Chinese-made copy, as I recall.

Re: Austin Les Paul?

One of my local smaller music stores used to be an exclusive dealer of Austin (as well as, low-budget, foreign-made Hamers) guitars.

They're not bad, but still just above entry-level. Definitely not worth a trade, no matter the "upgrades".

Re: Austin Les Paul?

I have an Austin neck thru thingy...it's a great guitar, the other one's I can't speak for.

What Dot do you have? Studio or not? Some Dot's don't have a high value, but I would think you could get a good Epi Std for it......Custom if you find the right person.
