Sound when volume knob is at 0

Hey folks,

My Les Paul Custom's Bridge Pickup's volume knob seems to be acting weird...
Even with the volume knob rolled down to 0, there's sound when I play.

Its not the same with the neck pup where it will mute correctly when the volume is at 0.

I'm guessing its the pot thats bad, and does anyone think/know that this issue is actually effecting my tone at the same time as well?

Thanks.

Sounds like the far right lug is not grounded to the back of the pot correctly. If you can solder, just heat it up and re-ground it. Otherwise take it to a tech. If that doesn't fix the problem, then replace the pot.

Don't jump to conclusions about faulty pots, it may simply be that the knob is misaligned.

Remove the knob (use a shoe lace or rag if it's stiff) and turn the barrel down to zero then check to see if there's still sound, if not place the knob back on in the right position and you should be good to go!

(If it's still the same then yer you're prolly looking at the pot.)

Defintely a wiring issue, try these suggestions above! My Yamaha SG also did this, but it was a 35 year old guitar that probably hadn't had an electronics check up in quite some time. Never bothered me, though

Why would anyone need to take the knob off to roll the barrel all the way down to 0? Just roll it till it stops! The numbers are just refference...

Keep it on 10, or 11.

Exactly.

The probable fix has already been mentioned. Re-heat the ground tab on the pot and flow a bit of fresh solder.
