wtf? That is s lame......

Joe is a great guy and, yes, he was at those guitar shows back in the '80s and '90s with his Dad, Lenny. We used to do a lot of deals together when I worked at Outlaw Guitars in Jersey in the '80s-90's. I doubt he remembers me, but I am very happy for his success. This is a guy who loves guitars!

Funny thing....I played both "The Babe" and the "Skinnerburst" when they were being sold at Rumbleseat. I would up trading a bunch of guitars for
0 8145, which another forum member owns now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctx86V-GI8A
It sounds great, and, like Joe says, he either likes them mint or with a lot of wear.
Fast forward to a couple years later.....I saw 0 7442 and fell in love with that one. Just a plaintop with significant wear. But it sounds fantastic.
http://www.burstserial.com/index.php?/category/1360

BTW....Joe wound up buying a double bound Rickenbacker a week or two ago which I used to own.....so maybe he is expanding his horizons!
Good for you, Joe. Keep on rocking! I'm happy for ya!

I made a video of the room with the Tweeds a while back, so my g/f understood that my collection isn't that much of a problem.

I showed it to my wife a couple of nights ago to show that I'm not all that bad and she said within a couple of seconds, "yes, but he's Joe."

I had no good response.

So, the Russion tosser Steven Seagal is his buddy. Joe obviously has not bothered to teach his mate guitar.

Fail... Steven has been a guitar collector buddy of mine for awhile. He is a geek like us... He has never asked for guitar pointers... I don't assume nor think highly of myself enough to offer off hand. I treat people the way they treat me. Steven has always been kind to me.. I respect him and his family in return.

Enjoyed watching video but what's the difference between a geek and a nerd when it comes to guitars?

Like someone put flux capacitors in a fleet of semi's and set them for for several points in the 50's and 60's. Jaw dropping.

English is not my first language but I have always thought the geek and nerd are basically the same thing, with the geek being more like the "gear/tech obsessed guy" and the nerd more like the introvert guy who is focused on one thing.

Re: Welcome To Nerdville: Inside Joe Bonamassa's Museum and Guitar Collection

Fun video for sure. I especially dig Joe's commentary regarding taking necks off Fenders to check the date. I hate that stuff almost as much as I hate all those shots of cool guitars with their guts pulled out for some jerk to "authenticate" something. Question: How does your maid go about cleaning such a cluttered house, Joe?

Oh, a huge difference! A geek may never have seen your gear but he'll know more about it than you ever will. They are technophobes and their knowledge is all encompassing. They speak in monotone. Relationships and sexual encounters are rare.

A nerd is more primitive and isolationalist. Most still live with their mothers. They have favourite cardigans and buy slacks from the small ads. They turn up at guitar shows overdressed or underdressed. They are voracious collectors of freebies. They will touch a 50's Gibson that is clearly marked "Please do not touch!" and saunter away sniffing the offending fingers, the other hand in pocket and working furiously. They bring their own lunch. Probably own a PRS.

Yep, i've a few regrets myself...the Mrs. even says "stop selling, just buy".
I'd marry her all over again!

Like his playing/music, or not, there's no denying that Joe is one hell of a humble guy.

After seeing this I can see that he's a nice humble, normal down to earth dude.
why so much hatten on Joe?
Is it just jealousy?

How "much hatten" is there in this thread? Not very much IMO.
