Re: The Fender Super Champ X2/XD Official Home Thread

Can I connect an X2 to an XD?
I have an XD combo with modded cab for a 12" Em. Legend and would prefer the easiest route to benefiting from the aforementioned fuse+12" tandem. I knew eventually I'd...

Re: Guitarist Harvey Mandel is now in his 13th surgery to repair damage

Hoping this all has a happy end soon and he can get on with the good parts of his life.

Re: Fender Vibro Champ XD - Opinions?

The stockers are well considered but I went the extra mile and got a modded pine cab with a well suited 12" speaker and never looked back. One trick on these to getting the tube value is to max the...

Re: Killer guitarist you've forgotten about.

Usually kept an eye peeled for whatever Uli Jon Roth was doing but his latest year of touring kept a major focus on old Scorpions material and recordings have really showcased him as one of the...

Re: The story about Led Zeppelin first concert ever

I'm a stalwart whiner, after 25 or so Zep shows I probably know what you mean. The creative sloppiness and the Oh god here we go again endless BS that plagued them mid '70s could be a fine line, but...

Re: The story about Led Zeppelin first concert ever

YT and all the private domain concerts/rarities available from any recorded era for free download almost makes up for those days actually being gone for good. It's truly amazing what still exists and...

Re: The story about Led Zeppelin first concert ever

 I'm a BIG fan of Len Zeffilin and not surprised you're aware of that lost greatness, reminds me of Vince Taylor, not everyone get's their due. Poor Len.

Re: Yamaha THR

I've had the 10 for over a year, prior to the newer models, it's another nice tool in the quiver. It does what it's designed to do and does it well right out of the box, best tiny / battery option...

Re: Yamaha THR10

The THR's are not an amp in the typical sense, they're both more and less which are just some the positives they deliver, investigate completely without pre-judgements to know if it's for you. Many...

Re: Favourite Les Paul moment.

Closest I cam to meeting him was getting a couple of questions in during the call-in portion of a Larry King radio interview, "1st caller, from Oahu, Hawaii, you're on with the great Les Paul" I'd...

Re: Orange Goblin

Late to the vintage OG game, another great band that fell thru the narrow cracks for me, and I havn't kept up much with the reformation, but they deserve what they never got back in the day.

Re: Happy 70th birthday Steve Miller!

Has he written a book? His memoirs would be a killer read (if he told all!), and I doubt as good boy sterile as Randy Bachman's. Just his years with Les would be enuf to satisfy most. What a life...

Re: Neil Young

He explains it well, the same note may be repeated endlessly but he does it different each time.

Re: From Woodstock 1969 - Canned Heat, On The Road Again, nearly 10 minute jam...

Saw him in a little club in Honolulu about 20 years ago with The Heat w/Larry Taylor and they were as solid as ever, keepin' the flame burning.
Thanx for the link!

Re: From Woodstock 1969 - Canned Heat, On The Road Again, nearly 10 minute jam...

Mandel has been dealing with some serious health issues in recent years but last I heard he's keeping it positive, but rough going indeed.

Re: Neil Young

I'd hate to think that's true, but if so no doubt most of us would like to be as broke as any of them, or have the guitar arsenals to parse out til ultimately death do us part! Long may they run.

Re: Epi Reissue Elektar Century Amp - Review

I remember when I could do that, then I moved a few thousand miles West from LA and that option lessened substantially. Crazy, ain't it?

Re: Epi Reissue Elektar Century Amp - Review

Thanx for the insight, you make it seem much better than anyone else (any where) has said, but it hilites the frustration of trying to get the bottom line on any piece of equipment, there too many...

Re: Neil Young

He's SO driven towards output that his catalog dwarfs the others (but it's more extreme and hit and miss as well), plus he's always on the road, but the another big reason is he rocks his ass off...

Re: Ted Nugent-Shut up & Jam

Yes, I do have my mind made up with decades of observation behind it. I love a lot about the guy, and hate a few things, and Ted couldn't care less about either.
He kills excessively, doesn't need...
