Advice on computer monitor for my new Mac Mini
Hi All
Just getting into recording and setting up a basic studio. Have all the hardware except video monitor. It has been decades since I bought a screen. Not sure what people are using now with the new HD quality TV screens available. I just bought a new Mac Mini 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 16GB memory ( upgraded ) 1TB hard drive1 Intel HD Graphics 4000 OS X Mountain Lion I want to keep costs reasonable. What are people doing now, hooking up to TV HD screens or HD computer monitors still? Which would be best for studio use under $350? Thanks

Don't get a TV. It will look like crap.
I'd look at Dell or Samsung monitors.

Agreed. I am looking at a 27in Samsung new for $300 right now. Seems to fill the need. Thanks everyone.

LG is very affordable,
For DAW use. have you considered using dual monitors? I find that 2 smaller screens can make better use of the real estate.

Re: Advice on computer monitor for my new Mac Mini
I spend my life staring at computer monitors, and have been through more than I can count. The best of any I've owned, and the one I use primarily, is a Westinghouse L2410NM. It's probably no longer available, but the product line is worth checking out.

Re: Advice on computer monitor for my new Mac Mini
Agreed that dual monitors is super useful, but with Spaces in OS X, it works pretty well to "simulate" multiple monitors. I can run my DAW in full screen on one space, and still run other windows on other spaces and just toggle.
