Question Pro Tools MP9, cannot import audio

I'm having a problem with my Mobile Pre Pro ToolsMP9. It will not allow me to import audio. It says cannot import because quicktime needs to be installed. It is installed. I reloaded it again and updated it. Anyone else run into this problem?

Re: Pro Tools MP9, cannot import audio

are you trying to import thru the file menu or the regions menu?
the import audio from the file menu only supports small number of formats.
i have no idea why

also are you running mac or PC?

Re: Pro Tools MP9, cannot import audio

uninstall protools.
then uninstall quick time.
reinstall protools then reinstall quicktime.
might be also a bug where protools looks for quick time in the wrong folder.
happens alot in 64bit windows OS.
probably looks for it in "program files" when it is actually in "program files (x86)".
also make sure you have the quick time 64bit version installed.
if this doesn't work just set the computer on fire....
i keed i keed

Re: Pro Tools MP9, cannot import audio

Thanks man, I was wondering if I should try an uninstall.

If this was the previous box I would have torched it a while back, but I dig this one and got it at a killer price (Gateway, i5, 8gb ram, 1 tb hd for $349 )

Will it let you simply drag it into the edit window onto a track? What kind of audio are you importing?

Re: Pro Tools MP9, cannot import audio

I think they've cleared this issue up in PT10. By the way, I'm curious why Avid brought M-Powered back? Thought they were just gonna call it PT 9/10. Are there any differences?
