New humbucker surround screws
Hi folks,
I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for a bit of help. I did a search - I'm sure I did it right but no threads came up with what I'm looking for. I'm sorry if this has been asked/answered before though. I play a Gibson Les Paul Standard (from 2003). I really want to get my hands on new/replacement screws for my pickup surrounds. I've looked everywhere I can think of local to myself but can't find the exact ones (I want the EXACT screws - I'm very picky when it comes to my guitar ). So I emailed Gibson to see if it was possible to buy them from them but they said they don't do screws as replacement parts and provided me with a link to a well known spare parts supplier (not sure if im allowed to say what company it was???).I bought these screws (listed as "humbucking pickup ring/surround screws long" and "humbucking pickup ring/surround screws short") but what came were no good. They were far too small and thin. Does anyone know where I can get the right screws?? If anyone can help I thank you greatly! ![]() PS. Im after replacement machine head fixing screws too. Again I want the EXACT same screws as what originally came with the guitar

Re: New umbucker surround screws
You can get those pickup ring screws at any good guitar shop. Even better, go to Guitar Center if there is one near you, that would be the easiest way. I don't typically recommend GC, but they have a good selection of accessories.
You can mention a parts site on here if you want, thats how Ive found a lot of good places to find stuff, just by someone else mentioning it. Good luck getting your screws.

Re: New humbucker surround screws
It was allparts.com
They have loads of variety in pickup surround screws but none are the same as what comes with a Les Paul. I've trawled loads of guitar shops local to myself. I live in Scotland but it's not that remote - I'm near the two biggest cities in my country and I've even been in a few stores in England but I just cannot find these screws!! ![]() The ones that came from allparts were NOTHING like what comes in a Les Paul. I mean, I know I'm picky but seriously these shared nothing with the originals - in dimensions or looks. |
