Re: M.L.P. / SKATTERBRANES Pickups * Talent Contest *

What do ya want cover tunes or originals? Or both?

Should there be backing tracks, or just single guitar?

Or does any of this really matter?

I really like solo, lone guitar playing best. Low production values BUT high fidelity/high resolution. But that is my preference, that is not to say other submissions won't or can't win.

Covers are cool, originals are cool, improvisation is cool.

How come you don't let the other members vote to see who wins? That may be more fun for those who don't enter. Just a thought. Good luck to all who does.

Are you the same Kink from the LPF? I didn't realize you were here too after reading some from you there. Nice to see you that you do like this place after all.

I was actually thinking of doing an American Idol finale!! Maybe after I narrow it down, I could have a poll for the last five or so. Flick, what do you think?

Just remember the winner will be representing your product . So if you pick say the final round we can do a poll if you wish no problem .

Cool I bought a bunch of software tonite, now if I can figure out how to use it so I dont have to go to my buddies studio, I'll get my bones loose and see if I have anything left in me. Girls that wont be a problem Well it might be.

My stuff will have spark, thats why I dont use the new correct inlay's I dont want them bursting into flames.

Stowburst Yeah baby!! Very tasty! I have heard good things about bareknuckle pickups. A dealer in Canada has compared SKATTERBRANEs to them, quite favorably I might add!!

Why doesn't Girl guitarist scrunch up her face, like Carlos? I guess it isn't THAT painful to play a guitar? In fact she is quite non-chalant about it!

I think if I do this, it would be the opposite, I would pick the finalists, and MAYBE ask for help if I cannot decide. I want a bit more control over who will be putting up clips for my site. I do not want this to be a popularity contest nor merely a talent search. It will be subjective as to the tone and style I want to represent SKATTERBRANES on my site.

Although I DO put up ALMOST every clip that has been given to me on my site already, I am really looking for something special with this. Soul weighs heavier than technical skill.
Now I CAN be influenced by opinion here. And I welcome open discussion about the entries. So this will be somewhat interactionary. And if I narrow it down to 3 or 5, MAYBE we can have a poll.

If I could play better than a 3 year old, I would put myself up, but I am TERRIBLE, and I am NOT being modest, anyone who knows me, knows I am NOT modest!

Nice playing guys. I wish I could do a you tube thing too. I can't so I'll stick to the audio. You'll have to imagine the video. LOL
I also agree with the voting.

Here's a slow blues thing I did.

Not an 80's player, but I like this backing so I played what I felt over it.

Weldaar I like your stuff. Video is not neccessary, can I get your clips in an embedded object file if you win, for my site?

My mind is made up that there will not be voting, as I say this is not a contest with a prize, it is a way for me to select who I want to make tone clips for me, and in return you get free SKATTERBRANES.
