Tele ground queston
I installed my new pups last night, and ran a ground from the ground lug of the baseplate to the volume pot with the rest of the grounds.
Was this appropriate? It didnt seem to cut any noise but, my flat screen was on and my av/amp christmas lights etc. I cant wait to try these pups, at low volume (as I tried last night) didnt notice much if any difference from stock 52's but, one probably wouldnt unless you are playing at proper levels, I hope |

Re: Tele ground queston
Did you ground it to the strings by running a wire through the bridge pickup hole and terminating in a bare end under the bridgeplate?

Re: Tele ground queston
Another overlooked grounding issue on Tele's can be the cover on the neck pu. Many times there is a little tab from the cover that goes to ground wire of that pu, but if not you would want to add a jumper or run a seperate ground wire for the pu cover itself, this will also help a great deal.
Remember you are dealing with single coils pu's which are in fact an RF antenna coil in a lot of ways so you are going to get a little noise here and there but mostly when using high gain. If you have excess Buzzz or Humm when playing clean then you have other issues, like your lighting or house wiring, or bad patch cord.

Re: Tele ground queston
I jumped a wire off the ground lug (the blob of solder on the base plate) to the volume pot with the rest.
So to answer dennis, no. So I guess when i do my next string change I will have to ground directly to a "stripped" part of the bridge plate Bare knuckles have a ground off the cover ( I was looking for it too) |
