New pickup switching harness mounted in tortoise shell back plate
Hey, I just got the first tortoise shell sample for my pickup switching system. It's laser cut on the 5 ply stuff from Stew Mac. I thought you'd see the layers on the sides but the heat of the laser sealed up the sides and they're just dark brown.

Re: New pickup switching harness mounted in tortoise shell back plate
Perhaps you might want to think about smaller screws with flush sunk heads to mount the gadgetry to the plate. This looks like I have to buy shirts more often.
![]() By the way, will your way of switching have 21 or 22 tones ? Also, I have seen a variation where the hum is cancelled when both pickups have the coils split. Will yours do that as well ?

It has 22 configurations. How many are useful is arguable .It's a pretty great way to try out all the wiring possibilities without having to replace your pots or make a crazy harness with wires everywhere. I just need to find the easiest way for people to install it. I'm thinking if there are connectors or a small length of wire with or without a connector running off the board it would make pickup swapping easier. The coil taps alone are not hum cancelling. In the middle position you can have the neck pole piece with either the bridge pole piece or slug out of phase. |
