Anybody know if Duncan and Gibson magnets are the same size?
Gonna try some magnet swapping (putting an A2 in a Duncan 59, supposedly this will make it a potted Seth?).
Since I don't want to disturb a PG pickup with an A2, I was gonna try an A2 from a Gibson 490r in the Duncan 59. Anybody know if they have the same dimensions? Don't want to have to get new spacers. TIA |

Should be fine. You may have to clear out some of the wax. Easiest way I know of to do this is to lightly heat up the base plate with a lighter and slide the new mag in. Only do this if you need to.

I've swapped magnets back and forth between Gibson and Duncan pickups without any trouble at all, you should be fine.

Yes, everything went perfectly. Put an A2 in a Duncan 59 and it smoothed it out just fine. Sounds real close to an Antiquity I have.
