Re: ShedPickups

Essentially The Shed Zeps have got to be within known PAF boundaries in order for them to sound like Page's PAFs of that era. So while the PAF Daddys are my PAF Clones, the Zeps are also PAF clones but still differ from The Daddys in terms of DCR and Magnet selection etc. Subtle but effective.

On another note, I got my prints all over another article for Guitar & Bass magazine this month. I will see if I can get a PDF from them to put on this forum. I'll have to wait around 3 months I think before I can do that but it's a good article on a 58 ES 175. I made some PAF Daddys for it and they do feature me making them.

It was a set of PAF Daddys. I would pester Alex about when he's gonna get around to posting them as he has had them since Jan 2008. Maybe he's trying to remember where he put them.

Apparently, it came out on 30th Jan 2009. I haven't got my complimentary copy yet which is a bit frustrating but hell, I'm only a contributor and advertiser.

Re: ShedPickups

How close do these Shed Zeps get to Page's live tone from the late 69 - 73 era?

Any detailed reviews?

I've ordered several sets LZ, no problems at all, no horror stories sorry. Spence gets them right to me when he gets them made. I usually have them within a week after he ships. Best guy I've ever dealt with. BTW I havent bought the last sets I'll ever buy from him.

How rude is that, Let's hope they liked the work you did for them, It's probly still at the printers if it's due out on the 30th.

It is in Pounds Sterling.
Shipping to the USA is free and I'm glad to say nothing's ever got lost.

Funny thing but whenever I develop a new set of pickups after doing a lot of research, if I put too much detail on the website, within a couple of weeks someone else is marketing their own version and quoting my spiel almost exactly. I'm more than happy to talk pickups with anyone who needs some more detail.

Well id guess that he went for the early Page sound going by the look of the bridge pickup, which is my personal favorite,

Re: ShedPickups

Have a look at Shed Pickups // if you can't get into the .co.uk site. It's not quite finished but each pickup has some info and a currency exchange rate website link button doo-dah thingy.

At today's rate £160 equates to $243. That includes shipping.

Primal Scream's ex bass player Henry Olsen is a wildly talented guitarist. He has a set in an ES 175. I'll ask him if he's recorded with it. He does his own albums now but also does a lot of TV advert music and Film themes. Nice guy too and also played with Nico (Velvet Underground fame ).
