Re: today i ohm tested my pups

haha you were right - nobody answers you here!

anyway, a lot of stock pups in the budget lines come with a hot bridge pickup these days, so that usually means 13-14k and an alnico 5 magnet. these are fine if you like that sort of thing, but a lot of people (me included) prefer a lower output with a lower alnico magnet strength as well.

are you happy with the pickups?

Re: today i ohm tested my pups

I believe you impedance tested and the results are in ohms.
What you have is on the higher side of Vintage hot, but not really modern hot.

really? that sounds about half strength! man, they must suck!

get them out, and get a HSS pickguard with some evil heavy ass humbucker in the bridge and some power rail single coils. that way your strat can do the metal stuff!

How are you testing them? Where are you placing the tips of the tester?
Even most true vintage guitars' pickups were usually over 5K.
